This Space Is For You If...

You've ever been bogged down trying to find "perfect" therapy materials.

You’ve grabbed therapy materials one second before your group starts and recognized that you weren’t targeting objectives in an effective way.

Your clients benefit from routine and structure.

You dislike the act of printing, cutting, laminating, and storing on repeat.

Your methods for planning are not sustainable.

Why I Created Spela

Hi, I’m Maria

For more than 12 years as a school-based Speech-Language Pathologist, I have seen firsthand how much children benefit from great books, engaging games, and consistent routines.

Like many SLPs, I spent countless hours searching for materials, printing resources, laminating activities, and rebuilding therapy plans every year.

I wanted a better way.

I wanted therapy plans that were easy to follow, engaging for students, and sustainable for clinicians.

Spela was created to bring all of those pieces together into one organized system that helps therapists spend less time planning and more time making meaningful progress with students.

Start with a Routine

A predictable structure helps students feel ready, focused, and confident at the start of every session. Greet and check in with students to ensure they are ready to learn.

Warm Up with Purpose

Begin with a quick, individualized warm-up targeting articulation or language goals.

Learn Through Books & Games

Use engaging book and game pairings to introduce and practice target skills in a meaningful way.

Take-Home Support

Send therapy guide activities to school staff and families for repetition, to strengthen skills, and to support carryover beyond the session.

Articulation

Start with a small set of personalized warm-up words.

Practice target words from the book at the student’s level:

Word → Sentence → Conversation

Revisit targets during reading and reinforce with therapy activities.

Language

Start with a small set of targeted concepts.

Introduce and model the skill, then read the book or play the game and highlight skills.

Use the therapy guide to practice and reinforce.

Browse by Theme
